STRATSEC WELCOMES CHRIS BARRET, RECOGNISED INFORMATION SECURITY PROFESSIONAL

Canberra, ACT – STRATSEC.NET PTY LTD, (stratsec), one of Australia’s leading independent providers of security consulting services, has welcomed Chris Barrett as a Senior Consultant to the firm.

Chris will provide stratsec with senior leadership in our ICT security discipline and will help our clients to navigate the Australian Government security policy landscape. He is enthusiastic about the opportunity to advance stratsec methodology and our approach to ICT security engagements.

Prior to stratsec, Chris worked within DSD’s Information Security Group as a senior ICT security policy advisor, where he was known to be one of the Australian Government’s most competent and dedicated information security advocates and practitioners. He led a major re-write of the Australian Government Information and Communications Technology Security Manual, more commonly known as ACSI 33. Chris also led DSD's representation on the re-write of the 2005 version of the Australian Government Protective Security Manual (PSM). As such, he has an unrivalled understanding of Australian Government security policy.

Chris holds a number of industry certifications, including Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and he is an endorsed Infosec-Registered Assessor (I-RAP).
