Critical Security Risks Identified in Windows

Leading Australian information security company stratsec has released details of critical security flaws in all versions of the Microsoft Windows operating system. This follows security flaws released for Adobe Acrobat and VMWare platforms in the last two months. stratsec is proud to be an Australian firm conducting internationally-significant IT security research.

stratsec Releases VMWare Advisory; Recruits Leading Researcher

A security advisory released today by stratsec warns of a security weakness in a third party component used by many software companies including VMware, potentially allowing the theft of user credentials. The vendor of the third party component - WebWorks - worked with VMWare and stratsec for approximately six months to develop the necessary patches to minimise the security risk to their clients.

stratsec takes out the 2009 Canberra Business Council Achievement Award

stratsec has been awarded another significant accolade - winning the Canberra Council Annual Business Achievement Award for 2009, as part of its 30th anniversary celebrations. Canberra Business Council CEO, Chris Faulks said stratsec was an outstanding Canberra success story and together with the other finallists demonstrated that "Canberra is uniquely positioned as Australia's smartest city and most innovative, export-focused business environment."

stratsec was delighted to hear news today of our acceptance into Defence's Rapid Prototyping Development and Evaluation program (RPDE), galvanising our commitment to the development of Australian capability. RPDE or 'Rapid' as it is known, is a collaborative venture between Defence and industry established to help Defence resolve difficult and challenging problems.

stratsec today won the 2009 ACT ICT Export Award category at the ACT Chief Minister's Export Awards ceremony at the Hyatt Hotel Canberra.  This follows the success last year in winning the 2008 ACT Emerging Exporter of the Year.  stratsec now heads with other category winners to Parliament House Canberra on 20 November for the conferring of the 2009 National Export Awards.
