Career Path
There is no concept of “just doing my time” at stratsec; you will advance at the pace you set - it is all up to you. Here are our roles and expectations:
- Managing Consultant. Managing Consultants are responsible for the effective management and profitable operation of a stratsec business unit as defined by the stratsec Board. This role provides strategic relationship management and high-level chargeable services for stratsec clients within the portfolio of that business unit. This also includes oversight and leadership of high-profile and/or large scale consulting projects and the development and management of consultants attached to their business unit.
Managing Consultants are provided with a high-level of autonomy to achieve stratsec business objectives under a framework of strong accountability for performance and support from stratsec executive officers.
- Principal. Lead large consulting teams and direct them through every phase of an engagement. Must have the ability to tutor and guide colleagues, contribute to methodology, and be capable of providing direct assistance to client executives. Must foster existing client relationships and forge new ones.
- Senior. Must be capable of working independently on client engagements to achieve outcomes in accordance with client expectations. Seniors must also be capable of contributing to the winning of new work and clients.
- Associate. Associate Consultants are responsible for the provision of consulting services to stratsec clients either individually or as a member of a team. Services should be oriented towards providing repeat business for stratsec. Must be capable of independently completing tasks in support of client deliverables. Responsibilities include gathering data and conducting engagement specific research.
Selection Process
We use a rigorous selection process to ensure that we leave no stone unturned and that neither stratsec nor the candidate are under any misapprehension about ability and expectations. The process includes the following:
- Getting to know you. You will meet with one of our Directors or managing consultants to give you the opportunity to learn more about stratsec and for us to learn about your interests and experiences.
- Finding out what others have to say. Based on your resume we check with people you have worked with in the past to get a feel for how you’ve worked with other organisations.
- Interview. An assessment of past accomplishments and the resources that you employed to get the job done.
- Case study. We will provide you with a common problem that stratsec is asked to solve for our clients. We are looking for a structured approach to dealing with the problem and unique ways in which we can get the best outcome for our client. During this test we will also be assessing your writing ability.
- An offer to join our team. If both you and stratsec are comfortable, we’ll make you an offer to join our dynamic team.
