stratsec CTO, Nick Ellsmore and COO, Doug Stuart are currently in Singapore visiting the newly established stratsec Singapore office in Suntec Towers; meeting with representatives from various business and government agencies, promoting the company's services and capability (24-29 January 2010 inclusive).
A security advisory released today by stratsec warns of a security weakness in a third party component used by many software companies including VMware, potentially allowing the theft of user credentials. The vendor of the third party component - WebWorks - worked with VMWare and stratsec for approximately six months to develop the necessary patches to minimise the security risk to their clients.

stratsec CTO, Nick Ellsmore, presented a keynote address at the above conference (25 August 2009), 'Managing a catastrophic loss of data loss'. This joint presentation examined the causes of data loss and what can be done to prevent it, along with what is considered best practice, and what can be done in the aftermath to recover from the situation. The presentation also considered the legal ramifications of data loss especially with the current climate of fining companies for declaring breaches.
stratsec hosted close to 100 government and industry representatives at the Boathouse in Canberra on 11 August 2009 for the much anticipated Managing Risk Through Assured Products seminar; a flagship event on the stratsec calendar.
